The site faces south with quayside frontage to the Thames. The size and proportion of the site mean that the northern portion of the site loses a relationship with the water.
To compensate for this and to raise the visual amenity and profile of the northern buildings, an irrigated canal of water is brought into the site from the Thames to feed a new water basin in this section of the site.
