HKR Architects sponsors London Borough of Southwark at MIPIM

HKR Architects will be returning to the world’s largest property market event at MIPIM, Cannes this month and sponsoring London Borough of Southwark.

MIPIM takes place from 13th to 16th March and has over 24,000 participants from 100 countries. Established in 1990, it gathers the most influential international property players from the office, residential, retail, healthcare, sport, logistics and industrial sectors for four days of networking, learning and transaction.

Geoff Brocklehurst from HKR Architects will also be speaking on the Old Kent Road panel session on the London Stand on Wednesday 14th March at 12.30pm.

Geoff comments, “MIPIM is an excellent opportunity to showcase what we are doing as a practice and as part of this we will be discussing the work we are doing at Nyes Wharf in LB Southwark to provide high quality flexible commercial space and mixed tenure homes.”

HKR Architects currently has over 1000 new homes in planning and are involved in four major regeneration masterplans in London Boroughs which will deliver in the region of 5,000 new homes, including two significant developments which form part of the Old Kent Road Masterplan, being led by London Borough of Southwark.

Nyes Wharf is part of a larger composite 13 hectare site masterplan known as OKR14. The Old Kent Road is designated as an Opportunity Area in the London Plan because of its significant capacity for new development. Over the next twenty years, the Opportunity Area will be transformed, increasingly becoming a part of central London.

Colin Wilson, Head of Regeneration, Old Kent Road continues, “Old Kent Road is the last major development opportunity in Zone 1-2. The extension of the Bakerloo Line will deliver a better central London and the best of Central London.”
