Pushing the boundaries of speed and sustainability in construction.

This week at Cityscape Global our Chair Jerry Ryan presented his keynote speech on the challenges facing our industry and the innovative approaches needed to meet them. Here are a few takeaways from his keynote speech:

The challenge is clear: as cities continue to grow, the construction industry must provide affordable, sustainable housing at an unprecedented scale. by 2050, 7.7 billion people will live in cities, and to meet this global demand we need to build 13,000 buildings every day. This can only be achieved through a shift in construction practices, embracing Industrialised Design and Construction (IDC), digital transformation and new technologies.

IDC and AI are paving the path forward, enabling us to:

  • Accelerate construction with modular design

  • Significantly reduce waste and CO2 emissions

  • Deliver high-quality housing at scale

  • Provide real-time insights and analytics for smarter decision-making

IDC isn't just about building: it's about creating vibrant, sustainable communities with diverse architectural appeal. From high rise residential developments in London to large scale projects in Saudi Arabia, we’re leading the way with efficiency and design excellence.

Together, we must accelerate the industry's digitisation and embrace the incredible opportunities in this bold new world.
